1. Who we are and scope
This Privacy Policy describes how VitalityIP (“VitalityIP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and otherwise processes personal information when you use:
- the Food For Health mobile application for iOS and, when available, Android (the “App”);
- our website at vitalityip.ai and related pages, including this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use (the “Site”); and
- related support, account, and communications services (together with the App and Site, the “Services”).
Food For Health is a personal meal app that suggests recipes around your body — conditions, medications, allergies, and what you are cooking tonight — then helps you plan the plate and shop. Guidance in the App is nutritional and informational. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and the App is not a clinician, calorie tracker, workout app, or grocery store.
By creating an account, using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, or otherwise using the Services, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
This Policy is written to support Apple App Store and Google Play requirements, including a publicly accessible privacy policy URL, disclosure of data collected by the App and by third-party sign-in SDKs, and a web pathway to request account and data deletion. It is not legal advice to you, and it does not create a doctor–patient, attorney–client, or HIPAA covered-entity relationship.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information created when you use the Services, and information we receive from authentication providers you choose (Apple or Google). We do not require you to provide health information to browse marketing pages on the Site. Health profile fields in the App are collected only after you enter or confirm them.
2.1 Account and identity information
When you create or sign in to an App account, we collect identifiers needed to operate that account. Depending on the sign-in method you choose, this may include:
- name or display name;
- email address, including an Apple Hide My Email private relay address if you elect that option;
- a unique account identifier we generate;
- the Apple user identifier (the Sign in with Apple “sub”) or Google user identifier associated with your sign-in;
- profile photo, if provided by Google and you authorize that scope;
- authentication tokens, refresh tokens, and session metadata required to keep you signed in securely; and
- account preferences, such as notification settings.
We do not collect your Apple ID password or Google password. Those credentials stay with Apple or Google.
2.2 Health profile and related personal details
If you choose to set up a health profile in the App, you may provide information such as:
- health conditions or goals you elect to list;
- medications or medication classes (for example, GLP-1 receptor agonists) you elect to list;
- food allergies, intolerances, and dietary restrictions;
- activity level or similar lifestyle basics;
- body measurements you elect to enter, such as weight; and
- other profile basics you add so recipes can be ranked or filtered for you.
This information is sensitive. We treat it as described in Section 6. You can leave fields blank. Leaving them blank may limit personalization but will not prevent you from browsing public recipe content that does not depend on those fields.
2.3 App activity, meals, and content you create
We collect information generated as you use Food For Health, including:
- recipes you view, swipe, heart, save, or mark as favorites;
- sides and other items you add when building a plate for breakfast, lunch, or dinner;
- meal plans you create for a day or week;
- shopping lists generated from plates or plans;
- cook-mode progress or step interactions;
- search queries and filters (for example, “high protein under 30 minutes”);
- plain-language questions you send to search or to the AI cook/nutrition assistant; and
- in-app feedback you send us.
2.4 AI conversations
If you use the assistant, we collect the text of your prompts, relevant profile context needed to answer, and the model’s responses, so we can return results, maintain conversation context, improve reliability, and investigate abuse or safety issues. See Section 7.
2.5 Device, diagnostics, and technical data
We and our service providers may collect device and log information such as device type and OS version, app version, language and time zone, crash logs, performance metrics, IP address, coarse location derived from IP (not precise GPS unless we later ask for that permission and you grant it), and security signals used to prevent fraud and abuse.
2.6 Website information
On the Site we may collect standard server logs, pages viewed, referring URLs, and cookie or similar identifiers as described in Section 15. If you email us, we collect the contents of that correspondence and your email address.
3. Sign in with Apple
Food For Health offers Sign in with Apple so you can create and access an account without a VitalityIP password. When you authenticate with Apple, Apple may share with us, subject to your Apple ID settings:
- a unique, stable Apple user identifier for our App;
- your name, if you choose to share it; and
- an email address — either your real Apple ID email or a Hide My Email private relay address (typically ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com).
Hide My Email. If you use Hide My Email, we treat the relay address as your email for account notices, support, and deletion confirmations. We will not demand your personal email as a condition of using Sign in with Apple. We will send mail to the relay address in accordance with Apple’s private email relay rules. If you later disable forwarding or revoke access in Apple ID settings, we may no longer be able to reach you by email and will honor Apple’s consent-revoked and related server notifications.
No extra data solely because you chose Apple. We do not require additional personal information beyond what is reasonably needed to operate your account merely because you signed in with Apple. Health profile fields remain optional and are collected only if you enter them.
Tokens and revocation. We store authentication tokens as needed to keep you signed in. If you delete your Food For Health account, we will revoke Sign in with Apple tokens using Apple’s APIs where applicable. If Apple notifies us that you revoked consent or deleted your Apple Account, we will invalidate those credentials and stop using them to access your Apple identity.
Apple’s handling of your Apple ID is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy and terms. VitalityIP does not control Apple’s systems. You can manage Sign in with Apple apps in your Apple ID settings on your device or at appleid.apple.com.
4. Google Sign-In and Google API Limited Use
Food For Health also offers Google Sign-In. When you authenticate with Google, we request only the basic profile scopes needed to create and operate your account. Depending on what you approve in Google’s consent screen, that typically includes:
- your Google user identifier;
- name;
- email address; and
- profile photo, if included in the authorized scopes.
We do not request access to your Gmail contents, Google Drive files, contacts, calendar, or other Google user data beyond basic sign-in profile information unless we update this Policy, update the Google consent screen, and obtain any additional authorization required.
Google API Services User Data Policy — Limited Use. VitalityIP’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- we use Google user data only to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in the App — namely authentication and account operation;
- we do not use Google user data for serving advertisements, including personalized, retargeted, or interest-based ads;
- we do not sell Google user data;
- we do not allow humans to read Google user data unless you give us permission for a support request, it is necessary for security or legal compliance, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized in accordance with applicable policy; and
- our processors who handle Google user data are bound to equivalent confidentiality and use limits.
Google’s handling of your Google Account is governed by Google’s privacy policy and terms. You can review and revoke Food For Health’s access in your Google Account security settings.
5. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- create, secure, and maintain your account, including Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In;
- rank, filter, and suggest recipes and sides based on the health profile you provide;
- power search, meal planning, plate building, cook mode, favorites, and shopping lists;
- operate the AI cook/nutrition assistant and return answers to plain-language questions;
- display health points or similar informational scores on recipe cards;
- send transactional messages related to your account (for example, security or deletion confirmations);
- diagnose crashes, measure performance, and keep the Services available;
- detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect users and VitalityIP; and
- improve the Services, including recipe quality and ranking, using aggregated or de-identified insights where practicable.
We do not use your health profile or Google user data to sell advertising. We do not sell personal information as “sale” is commonly defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA. If that practice ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide any required opt-out.
6. Health information and special-category data
Conditions, medications, allergies, activity, weight, and similar profile fields are health-related and, in some jurisdictions, “special category” or sensitive personal information. We collect this data only when you choose to provide it in the App. We use it to personalize recipe ranking and filtering, to inform plate suggestions, and as context for the assistant when you ask questions such as whether a recipe is appropriate given a constraint you listed.
Not medical advice. The Services do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Ranking a recipe higher or lower, showing health points, or answering a question about GLP-1s, allergies, or medications is nutritional information generated from the data you supplied and from our catalog and models. It is not a clinical recommendation. Always confirm diet changes, allergen exposure, and medication–food interactions with a qualified clinician or pharmacist.
Not HIPAA-covered by default. The consumer Food For Health App is offered by VitalityIP as a general wellness and nutrition product. Unless you have a separate written agreement in which VitalityIP is a business associate of a covered entity (a “BAA”), VitalityIP is not acting as a HIPAA covered entity or business associate with respect to your use of the consumer App, and this Policy — not a Notice of Privacy Practices — governs that use.
Do not use the App as your medical record. Do not upload another person’s health information unless you have legal authority to do so. If you believe you are having a medical emergency, contact emergency services; do not rely on the App.
7. AI and automated ranking
The App uses automated systems to rank and filter recipes against your profile and to answer plain-language questions. Some features may send prompts, limited profile context, recipe metadata, and conversation text to third-party large-language-model or infrastructure providers acting as our processors. Those providers are authorized to process data only to provide the service to us, subject to contractual confidentiality and security obligations, and not to use your data to advertise to you.
Outputs can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. The App may misunderstand a medication, miss an allergen cross-contact risk, or suggest a meal that is inappropriate for your situation. You remain responsible for reading ingredient lists, following food-safety practices, and checking with a clinician.
We may use de-identified or aggregated interaction data to evaluate ranking quality and reduce harmful or clearly incorrect suggestions. We do not use your Google user data to train advertising models.
9. Retention
We retain account and profile information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we delete or irreversibly de-identify personal information associated with that account within a commercially reasonable period, generally within 30 days after we complete the deletion request, except where we must retain limited records for:
- legal, tax, accounting, or audit obligations;
- dispute resolution and enforcement of our Terms;
- security, fraud prevention, and abuse detection; or
- backups that are cycled on a rolling schedule and then expire.
Backups and logs may persist for a limited additional period and are then overwritten. Aggregated statistics that no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and least-privilege practices for staff and processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You can help by using a locked device, keeping the App updated, and signing out on shared devices.
If we become aware of a security incident that requires notice under applicable law, we will notify you and regulators as required, using the email associated with your account (including an Apple Hide My Email address if that is on file).
11. Your choices and account deletion
This section is the web resource for requesting deletion of your Food For Health account and associated data, as expected by Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v) and the Google Play User Data / account deletion requirements. You can also start deletion in the App when that control is available.
How to request deletion on the web. Email privacy@vitalityip.ai from the email address on your account (your Google email or your Apple email / Hide My Email relay address). Use the subject line “Food For Health account deletion.” Include:
- the email associated with the account;
- whether you signed in with Apple or Google; and
- a statement that you want the account and associated personal data deleted.
We may ask for reasonable verification so we do not delete the wrong account. We will confirm when deletion has been initiated and when it is complete. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days, sooner when practicable.
What is deleted. Your account credentials linkage, health profile, favorites, hearts, meal plans, shopping lists, assistant chats, and other in-App content tied to your user ID, except limited records we must keep as described in Section 9.
Sign in with Apple. We will revoke Apple tokens associated with the App where required. Deleting Food For Health does not delete your Apple ID. You may also remove the App from Sign in with Apple in your Apple ID settings.
Google Sign-In. Deleting Food For Health does not delete your Google Account. You may revoke the App’s access in your Google Account settings.
Other choices. You can edit or clear health profile fields in the App, remove favorites, and stop using the assistant. You can disable notifications in device settings. You can stop using the Site at any time.
If a paid subscription is later offered through the App Store or Google Play, canceling a subscription is handled by Apple or Google; account deletion is separate. Any extra steps (for example, canceling a subscription before deletion) will be described in the App and in our reply to your deletion email.
12. Privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, delete information, export a copy in a portable format, restrict or object to certain processing, and appeal a denial of a request. California residents may also have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising), and the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising those rights. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right-to-limit notice beyond providing the Services you request.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland and GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases typically include: performance of a contract (providing the App you requested); consent (optional health profile fields and optional assistant use, which you can withdraw by clearing data or deleting your account); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement that does not override your rights); and legal obligation.
To exercise rights, email privacy@vitalityip.ai. We will verify your identity and respond within the time required by law. You may authorize an agent where the law allows; we will need proof of authorization. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; we hope you will contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
13. Children’s privacy
Food For Health and the Services are for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the App. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18, and the App is not directed to children under 13 as defined by COPPA. If you believe we have collected information from someone under 18, contact privacy@vitalityip.ai and we will delete it.
14. International transfers
VitalityIP is based in the United States. If you access the Services from another country, your information will be processed in the United States and possibly in other countries where our processors operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from yours. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms (such as standard contractual clauses) with processors. By using the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to the United States.
16. App stores and third-party SDKs
If you download Food For Health from the Apple App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google also process information as described in their privacy policies (for example, purchase history, device identifiers, and store analytics). We must declare data collection in App Store privacy labels and the Google Play Data safety form. Those labels are summaries; this Policy is the detailed disclosure and should be read together with them.
Third-party SDKs in the App may include Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and infrastructure or diagnostics SDKs. We are responsible for data those SDKs collect through the App. We do not include advertising SDKs that track you across apps for third-party ads.
Links on the Site or in the App may lead to third-party websites or stores we do not control. Their privacy practices apply to those destinations.
17. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised Policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice (for example, an in-App notice or email to the address on your account). Continued use after the effective date of a revised Policy constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Services and delete your account.
